The GB showing is located about 85 kilometres northeast of the community of Dease Lake.
Pyrite, pyrrhotite, pentlandite, chalcopyrite and minor bornite occur within a Devonian to Permian body of serpentinized peridotite. The peridotite body strikes roughly northwest within amphibolitic gneisses, hornblende and sericite schists of the Precambrian to Permian Rapid River Tectonite. Mineralization is disseminated but occasionally pyrrhotite occurs as hairline stringers. Gossan development is evident in the area of the sulphides. Adjacent to this sulphide area, a quartz vein occurs containing similar sulphides.
Away from the mineralization, porphyritic diorite dikes carrying minor pyrite cut the ultramafic body. The dikes host a fractured quartz vein hosting minor pyrite, chalcopyrite and malachite. Occasional chrysotile veinlets are present in the peridotite.
In 1970, a 1.6-metre chip sample assayed 27.43 grams per tonne silver, 0.11 per cent nickel and trace gold (Assessment Report 2797, Geology and Sampling Plan map).
In 1970, work began on the GB claims by Minex Development Ltd. and consisted of a ground magnetometer survey which was conducted in the vicinity of known mineralization and gossan exposures. Prospecting was also completed and electromagnetic (EM-16) traverses were run across the main showing area. In addition, 130 soil samples were taken in the vicinity of the magnetic anomaly and mineralized zones and five test pits were dug.
