The Wiser showing area is underlain by andesitic volcanics of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. A grab sample from a narrow quartz vein (10 centimetres thick) located near the bottom of East Creek contained 0.34 per cent copper with 0.060 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 18263).
Regional mapping in 1964 by Conwest Explorations provides the only recorded work on the area that was later covered by the Wiser claims (Assessment Report 621). In 1988, reconnaissance exploration by Pass Lake Resources Ltd consisted of prospecting and geochemical sampling which resulted in the collection of 15 rock, 3 silt and 26 soil samples.
