The SGS 7 showing area is underlain by marine sedimentary and volcanic rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The stratigraphy is intruded by Eocene granite of the Major Hart Pluton and Early Jurassic monzodiorite to gabbro of the Texas Creek Plutonic Suite. Further west the area is underlain by Devonian to Permian sedimentary rocks of the Stikine Assemblage.
Immediately north of the boundary of the PL 9 claim on the SGS 7 claim, a 1.0 metre quartz vein in mafic volcanic rock strikes east with vertical dip and was traced over a seven meter strike length. Sulphide mineralization in the quartz vein consists of poddy aggregations. A select grab sample (463254) assayed 2.57 grams per tonne gold with 2.33 per cent copper in sample 463254 (Assessment Report 19534).
Please refer to the Rolls Royce prospect just south of Split Creek for details of a common work history.
