Capsule Geology

Pensyllvanian Stikine Assemblage limestones host thin quartz veins containing pyrite, pyrrhotite and minor sphalerite. Sediments are in contact with Early Jurassic granodioritic intrusive rock of the Cone Mountain Plutonic Suite.

Vuggy quartz veins occur in a 1 metre wide bleached, altered zone in granodiorite. Veins in the zone are up to 5 centimetres wide. Azurite and pyrite were noted. Sample 90G-12-W3 assayed 77.06 grams per tonne gold, 162.6 grams per tonne silver, 0.04 per cent copper and 0.07 per cent lead (Assessment Report 21333).

Work History

In 1989, a preliminary prospecting and sampling program on the property on behalf of Sarabat Gold Corporation. During the program, a total of 8 stream sediment samples and 20 rock samples were taken (Assessment Report 20002).

In 1990, a prospecting, mapping and sampling program was conducted on the property by Sarabat Gold (Assessment Report 20002). During this program, 20 rock samples, 1 soil sample and 8 stream sediment samples were collected including the samples that documented the Snowest showing.
