The Falls showing area is underlain by Devonian sedimentary and volcanic rocks of the Stikine Assemblage. The Devonian Forrest Kerr Pluton is in contact to the immediate west of the Stikine package. Plutonic rocks consist primarily of Late Devonian granite and diorite.
The showing consists of a 20 to 30 centimetre wide quartz vein containing minor chalcopyrite and good local gold values. It is exposed along the canyon wall on the north side of the creek, downstream from a moderate waterfall.
The prospector's discovery grab sample assayed 22.11 grams per tonne gold with 0.32 per cent copper (Assessment Report 20562).
Several other samples in the vicinity, such as indicated as the Alpine showing, were high copper and gold (Figure 65, Assessment Report 20562).
The Jan showing is plotted in the sample vicinity as the Falls and Alpine showings. At the Jan zone auriferous arsenopyrite bearing quartz veins and red oxidized gold bearing shears are reported in an andesite host. The veins have a dominant eastward strike and dip 45 degrees to the south. Soil samples collected at the Jan showing defined two separate gold anomalies with variably associated copper and arsenic values. Anomaly 1 in the Jan showing area corresponds directly with gold-arsenic quartz vein and shear zone mineralization hosted by andesite that was discovered while trenching.
