Capsule Geology

The Silver Coin showing is located 400 metres south of Noname Lake approximately 1 kilometre north of the Indian Mine and 25 kilometres north of Stewart, British Columbia.

Located in the Intermontane Belt, the area, bounded on the west by the Coast Crystalline Complex and on the east by the Bowser Basin, is part of the volcanic arc assemblage of the Stikinia Terrane.

The showing is hosted by the Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group, Unuk River Formation metavolcanic rocks. The Hazelton Group is a northwest trending steeply east dipping belt of folded andesitic lapilli tuffs, flows and breccia containing a thick sequence of argillites and siltstones infolded along a synclinal axis. This sequence is intruded by the Early Jurassic Texas Creek plutonic suite of dacitic porphyry dykes.

The showing is exposed on the crest of the Big Missouri ridge as a well-defined siliceous zone in bleached, silicified and foliated tuffs. The main silicified zone, 3 to 7 metres wide, consists of quartz stockworks, veins and stringers. Quartz lenses connected by veins and stringers to the main zone in en echelon arrangement, extend the width of the zone. This north striking zone can be traced along strike for 150 metres, both to the north and south where it disperses as a series of quartz veins, stringers, and/or offset lenses.

Sparsely mineralized quartz containing sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite and pyrite is exposed in outcrop. The host rock has undergone propylitization.

Work History

Silver Coin became the name given to the larger gold-silver-base metal property owned/operated by Pinnacle Mines Ltd and Mountain Boy Minerals that also includes the adjacent Dauntless property and the Kansas property. Through various option agreements, Pinnacle had the right to earn at least a 60 per cent interest in the Silver Coin property, a 33 per cent interest in the Dauntless property and up to a 70 per cent interest in the Kansas property. The project covers approximately 1,500 hectares and encompasses many documented nearby occurrences. Much of the work in 2004 and 2005 has concentrated on the new Perserverance zone (104B 394) about 2 kilometres to the north-northeast. About 3000 metres was drilled in 2004 and a further 5000 metres was drilled in 47 holes in 2005. Another zone, the Main Breccia zone became an important exploration target in 2005. This zone encompasses the Silver Butte past producer area (104B 150). It is mineralized over a strike length of 2000 metres with vertical height of 700 metres and widths of 10 to 100 metres.

In 2006, Pinnacle Mines collected, a total of 500 meters of trenching were carried out in 15 trenches using an excavator in order to obtain bedrock samples for assaying. A total of 24,151.3 meters of NQ and BTW size core was drilled in 115 separate drill holes with most of the drilling focused in one main area with minor drilling testing targets in 2 other areas. The main zone tested was the Main Breccia zone on the Kansas and Big Missouri claims with minor drilling testing the area of Dan zone on the Dan Fraction claim and Dauntless Hill zone on the Indi 9 claim. Some soil and rock sampling were also completed.

In 2010, Jayden Resources (formerly Pinnacle Mines) completed 2,808 metres of drilling in 18 NQ-sized core surface drill holes in order to expand and infill the known resources. Four drill holes were drilled on the Kansas Crown Grant, ten drill holes were drilled on the Big Missouri (405872), one drill hole was drilled on each of the Silver Coin 9 (406223) and Dan Fraction (404872), and two drill holes were drilled on the Packers (405874) mineral tenure for a total of 18 drill holes. The drilling program targeted potential mineralization along strike and improved the definition of high-grade zones within the Main Breccia zone.

In 2011, Jayden Resources drilled 17,468 metres in 109 holes on the Silver Coin property focusing on filling gaps for resource calculations (presumably the Main Breccia zone). In 2011, Jayden published a resource calculation for the Silver Coin property Assessment Report 32699; www.jaydenresources.com).

See Silver Butte (104B 150) for related details, common Silver Coin property work history and recent resource calculations.
