The Kitgold 3 occurrence is located 16 kilometres north of Alice Arm, 2.6 kilometres west of the Kitsault River.
The region is underlain by an assemblage of volcanic and sedimentary rocks comprising the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group and the Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group. A rock sample (37523) taken from an ankeritic quartz vein with significant limonite alteration and mineralized with 10 per cent arsenopyrite and trace chalcopyrite assayed 170 grams per tonne silver, 0.62 gram per tonne gold, 0.27 per cent lead and 0.07 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 21173). Hostrocks are andesite of the Hazelton Group.
In 1990, work on behalf of Santa Marina Gold Ltd. on their Kitgold claims entailed regional mapping, prospecting and silt sampling, during which a total of 85 grab rock samples and 13 silt samples were taken. In 2005, Kitsault Resources Ltd. completed a reconnaissance stream sediment survey on the area as the Kitsault Gold property.
