The 10K occurrence is located on the east side of Finlay River about 10 kilometres north of Thutade Lake and 6.5 kilometres southeast of Drybrough Peak, approximately 275 kilometres north of the community of Smithers.

The 10K zone was discovered while prospecting en-route to follow up on historical showings beside the Finlay River. In this area, an extensive zone of base metal quartz-carbonate veins cutting chlorite-epidote-sericite altered altered Upper Triassic Stuhini Group volcanic rocks occurs in proximity to feldspar porphyritic monzonite dikes. An early Jurassic stock (Black Lake Suite) occurs to the northwest.

Quartz veins up to 0.75 metre wide contain an assemblage of pyrite, honey to brown coloured sphalerite, galena and chalcopyrite. Samples were generally elevated in silver and gold. Trenching in this area outlined a northwest-trending zone approximately 50 by 300 metres in dimension averaging 7 grams per tonne silver, 0.22 per cent lead and 0.22 per cent zinc in chip samples and remains open; one 5.0 metre chip sample assayed 0.48 gram per tonne gold and remains open (Assessment Report 27429). The zone is sub-parallel to a quartz monzonite dike, and flanks a quartz monzonite stock on the south. Andesite is propylitically altered adjacent to quartz-sulphide veins, to chlorite-epidote-calcite. Quartz monzonite is pervasively silicified adjacent to quartz-sulphide veins.

In the southwestern part of the 10K grid, a granodiorite outcrop has mineralized andesite along the intrusive contact. Quartz-pyrite veins occur in a fine-grained border phase of the stock with K-feldspar, calcite and epidote. Pyrite as veinlets and disseminations is abundant in silicified andesite.

About 300 metres northwest of this showing, at the bank of the Finlay River, a skarn occurrence of magnetite-pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite in Stuhini Group andesite is present. This mineralization may be related to an intrusive contact with a stock of granodiorite which outcrops to the east and contains quartz-K-feldspar-pyrite-chalcopyrite veins.

The 10K showing was discovered in 2003 by Stealth Mineral Ltd. during exploration of its large Pine property; four trenches were cut on the 10K showing. In 2005, mapping and sampling occurred on a number of showing areas including the 10K. Prior to 2009, the 10K showing had been evaluated with trenching, induced polarization geophysics and surface mapping. In 2009, a multi-day evaluation of the 10K showing was undertaken; mapping of the showings and reclaimed trenches was the main focus for work in the area.
