Capsule Geology

The Brin claims, part of the Bertha project, are located 26 kilometers east of the mouth of the Ospika River, on an un-named tributary of the Nabesche River.

Regionally, Silurian Nonda Formation, Silurian and Devonian Muncho-McConnell Formation and Lower and Middle Devonian Stone Formation and Middle Devonian Dunedin Formation limestones and dolomites, overlain by Devonian and Lower Carboniferous Besa River Formation shale, comprise the south plunging nose of the Bernard anticline. Ordovician Skoki Formation and Upper Cambrian and Lower Ordovician Kechika Group carbonate rocks and siliciclastics are in fault contact with the Devonian carbonates.

Mineralization consists of galena and minor sphalerite in small veins in a fine-grained dolomite.

The Bertha project identified three zinc, one cadmium, two lead and nine silver anomalies on the Brin claims (Property File Cyprus Anvil Campbell, N., 1972).

Work History

During 1972 through 1974, British Newfoundland Exploration Ltd. completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping and geochemical (rock, silt and soil) sampling on the area immediately north as the Alpine, Brin, Low, Cyn and Vale claim groups of the Nabesche property.
