The Grab 1 occurrence is located on the south side of the Omineca River, approximately 2.6 kilometres south east of its junction with the Ominicetla Creek.

The area is mapped as being underlain by clastic and calcareous sedimentary rocks of the Permian to Jurassic Cache Creek Group and argillite, greywacke and conglomerate turbidite of the Triassic to Jurassic Tezzeron Sequence.

Locally, as identified by drilling, variably altered and mineralized volcanic rocks of the Triassic-Jurassic Takla Group hosts gold and copper values.

In 2009, a diamond drill hole (09 DD-02), located up slope to the south west and centred on an induced polarization anomaly, intercepted an 80 metre interval averaging 0.08 gram per tonne gold and 0.1 per cent copper, including 13 metres yielding 0.135 gram per tonne gold and 0.13 per cent copper (Assessment Report 31565).

Work History

In 1983, Golden Porphyrite conducted work on their Jo claims which covered Mariposite Creek, including the plotted location of the Mariposite cinnabar occurrence. Work done by Golden Porphyrite in 1983 consisted of Geological mapping and prospecting. An area of 40 square kilometres was mapped, 760 soil samples, 73 rock chip samples and 6 heavy sediment samples were collected. In 1984, Golden Porphyrite conducted further work including mapping and prospecting over an area of approximately 40 square kilometres. A total of 71 geochemical rock chip, 874 soil and 38 heavy sediment samples were collected.

The Grand North property was acquired by Amarc Resources Ltd. by staking in 2007. The property consisted of 26 claims covering an area of 11,683.71 hectares, stretching over 30 kilometres along the southwest side of the Ominica River. An airborne magnetic gradiometer survey was flown over the property by in April 2007. The survey comprised 230.7 line-kilometres at a spacing of 200 metres. A series of west–northwest trending magnetic highs were outlined by the survey that likely reflect contrasts between volcanic and sedimentary rocks. In 2008 and 2009, Lysander Minerals and Amarc Resources completed programs of geochemical sampling, an induced polarization survey and 2 diamond drill holes, totalling 279.4 metres, on the area as the Pinchi property.

In 2009, Lund Gold completed a program of geochemical sampling, induced polarization, and magnetic surveys and 4 diamond drill holes, totalling 682 metres, on the area as the Grab claims, a part of the Don-Don property. In 2011 and 2012, Sointula Resources completed programs of photo-geologic interpretation, a 48.2 line-kilometre ground magnetic survey and a 22 line-kilometre induced polarization survey on the area as the DM claims.

In 2014, optioner Sointula Resources and owner Donald Bragg completed an exploration program on the Pinchi property. The program included mapping and rock, soil, and stream sediment sampling. A total of 27 rock samples, 89 soil samples, 20 silt samples, 5 moss mat samples and 20 heavy metal samples were collected and analyzed. Assay Results included maximum values of 1.956 per cent copper and 0.512 per cent lead from samples 1388 and 3554, respectively (Assessment Reports 35180 and 35193).
