Capsule Geology

The area of the Perretts Cliff showing is underlain by mesozonal plutonic rocks assigned to the Late Triassic to Early Cretaceous Hogem Intrusive Complex, which have been emplaced into volcanic rocks of the Middle Triassic to Lower Jurassic Takla Group, east of the Pinchi fault zone. Rocks in the showing area have been described as gneissic hornblende monzonite and hornblende biotite gneiss.

At the Perretts Cliff showing, approximately 2 kilometres to the northwest of the Misty deposit (MINFILE 093N 001), a shear cutting rusty-weathering gneiss hosts vein quartz mineralized with pyrite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and galena. One grab sample of this mineralization assayed 25.85 grams per tonne gold, 1566.86 grams per tonne silver, 6.7 per cent lead, 1.22 per cent zinc and 0.38 per cent copper (Assessment Report 20004, page iii; Certificates of Assay, Appendix V). Follow-up chip sampling results were significantly lower.

In 2006, Teck Resources Limited conducted a comprehensive geophysical, geochemical sampling and drilling program on the Jan-Tam-Misty property. Geophysical surveys performed include airborne magnetic, radiometric and electromagnetic surveys over 323 line-kilometres as well as induced polarization and ground magnetic surveys over 40.4 line-kilometres. A total of 10 diamond drill holes were drilled and sampled, resulting in 1143 drill samples. Drillhole JTM06-04, located 200 metres south of the Perretts Cliff occurrence, assayed 0.95 gram per tonne gold over 3.04 metres, and 0.1104 per cent copper over 29.2 metres (Assessment Report 28944).
