Capsule Geology

The Itsit area is underlain by andesitic rock of the Cretaceous Kasalka Group and coarse clasitic sedimentary rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Red Rose Formation, Skeena Group. These are intruded by dioritic rocks of the Upper Cretaceous Bulkely Plutonic Suite.

Porphyry mineralization was first identified in 2011 drilling and geophysical surveys by new Nadina Explorations Limited. Follow up TITAN 24, direct current induced polarization (DCIP) and magneto telluric (MT) geophysical surveys totalled 21.6 line kilometres and were integral in generating high quality drill targets for the 2012 program. The 2011 drill program resulted in significant mineralized intersections carrying values in gold, copper and molybdenum. Core samples indicate multiple pulses of mineralization in stockwork suggesting good potential for higher grade zones within the deposit.

Mineralization occurs as chalcopyrite and molybdenite associated with quartz vein stockworks within a feldspar porphyry intrusion of probable Late Cretaceous age. All of the 2012 and 2013 drill holes, with the exception of drill hole 12S-03, targeted this zone and all of these holes encountered significant copper-molybdenum-gold mineralization similar to that intersected in the 2011 program.

Highlight results include 144 metres grading 0.379 grams per tonne gold, 0.279 per cent copper and 0.041 per cent molybdenum from 306 to 450 metres depth in hole 12S-05 (0.655 per cent copper equivalent) (Assessment Report 34439).
