The area of Babs 1-3 showing is underlain by a Middle Jurassic granodioritic stock or batholith of the Spike Peak Intrusive Suite. A quartz monzonitic phase is identified for this area of the suite.
In 2012, several grab samples were identified as medium crystalline biotite feldspar porphyry or a coarse crystalline hornblende-biotite granodiorite. Samples were reported to have contained 1 to 2 per cent pyrite and traces of chalcopyrite. Samples 45224 and 042456 analyzed 5 grams per tonne and 2 grams per tonne gold respectively by ICP-ES analysis but assayed less than 0.005 part per million by Fire Assay Fusion analysis (Assessment Report 33911). Contamination was thought unlikely and the "nugget effect" was offered as an explanation. Copper values were all less than or equal to 3 parts per million (Assessment Report 33911).
Work History
In 2012, prospecting on the Babs 1-3 claims by owner Ken Galambos consisted of a number of day-trips into the Babs 1 to 3 claims area to prospect and sample available bedrock. In previous years, this area received geochemical sampling with some discrete anomalies areas being identified.
