The Girls occurrence is located immediately north of Tsichgass Lake, approximately 9 kilometres north of Francois Lake’s northern shore.
The area is underlain by Cretaceous to Tertiary Francois Lake Group rocks, mainly Upper Cretaceous Tip Top Hill Formation volcanics, which are overlain by the Eocene Goosly Lake Formation. The Tip Top Hill Formation comprises mainly andesite, andesitic to dacitic lavas and pyroclastics, which are overlain by feldspathic andesite, trachyandesite lavas, breccias, sills and stocks of the Goosly Lake Formation (Bulletin 78, Figure 1).
Locally, pyrite and minor chalcopyrite occurs as disseminations within a monzonite plug or dike.
In 1972, Canadian Superior Exploration Ltd. originally claimed the area under the Tel 1-40 claims and completed geological mapping, geochemical sampling and magnetometer surveys over the next two years. Rock samples returned up to 65 parts per million copper and 1.9 parts per million silver (Canadian Superior Explorations Ltd. (1973-11-13): Certificate of Analysis - Report No. 859-30-031 - Tel). In 2006, John Wesley Moll staked and prospected The Girls and Girls 2 claims over the former Tel claims. In 2009, a single drill hole, totalling 25.5 metres, was completed. A 1.0 kilogram sample (16202) of drill core material returned 0.7 gram per tonne silver (Assessment Report 31290).
