Pods and shears contain chalcopyrite and specularite (Richards, T., 1991).
The Zap 1-40 claims, owned in 1969 by Hans Madeisky, apparently included the former Helen property of the early 1900s. Work during 1969 included reconnaissance geological, and geochemical soil, silt, and rock chip surveys. The Colorado Corporation held an option on the property in 1970 and carried out magnetometer and soil geochemical surveys.
In 1989 and 1990, the Pass claims of Teck Exploration extended south from the Pass prospect (093L 196) to the area about 1 kilometre north of Top Lake. Teck completed rock, silt and soil sampling, VLF and magnetic geophysical surveying on its Pass prospect and at the same time conducted soil, rock and silt reconnaissance sampling in the Zap South area (Figure 41, Assessment Report 20452).
