The area is underlain by Lower to Middle Jurassic Hazelton Group volcanics. A barite vein approximately 0.5 metres wide strik- ing 340 degrees and dipping 80 degrees east is mineralized with chalcopyrite in a gangue of barite and calcite. The vein is contained in a coarsely crystalline feldspar porphyry breccia. A couple of small barite-calcite veins that are slightly mineralized with chalcopyrite also occur in the area. Only trace amounts of gold and silver are reported.
