The Gamble occurrence is located 2.5 kilometres west of Tchesinkut Lake, 12.5 kilometres south of the town of Burns Lake.

The Gamble showing occurs in a region underlain by Lower Jurassic strata into which felsic plutons of the Upper Jurassic Francois Lake Suite have been intruded. Volcanics of the Upper Cretaceous to Lower Tertiary Ootsa Lake Group overlie these rocks. A gradational contact zone between Topley and Hazelton volcanics crosses the east side of the claims. Weak propylitic alteration, localized brecciation, pyritization and weak silicification and K-feldspathization indicates generation of a weak porphyry system in the area.

The geology of the showing has not been described other than a reference to several outcrops of mafic volcanics in the area.

Mineralization consists of sphalerite and galena in a 0.6 to 0.9 metre wide copper stained quartz vein. A selected sample of vein material assayed 1.37 grams per tonne gold, 54.86 grams per tonne silver, 1.6 per cent lead and 2.0 per cent zinc (Annual Report 1930, p. 146).

Work History

In 1982, geophysical and soil geochemical surveys were performed, by Chevron Standard Limited, on the Mukaluk, Weasel (immediately east of Mulvaney Lake), Bugsy (immediately east of Anderson lake) and Slippery claims (1 kilometre south of the Bugsy claims). A number of anomalous areas were identified but subsequent diamond drilling failed to find any significant mineralization. The highest values encountered came from a 0.60 metre section grading 108 parts per million copper, 8 parts per million lead, 326 parts per million, 3 parts per million silver and 20 parts per billion gold on the Slippery claims (Property File Chevron Northcote, K.E., 1982).

In 2015, Brian Sauer prospected and rock sampled the area as the DLE claim.
