The Wed anomaly is located 11.2 kilometres south of Prince George and 2.5 kilometres west of the Fraser River. The area is underlain by Upper Triassic volcanic rock of the Takla Group.
An elliptical magnetic anomaly of 2000 plus gammas with other parallel conductive zones has been identified on the claims. Geochemical sampling of the claims was generally low and failed to penetrate a thick and continues layer of clay. The best samples returned up to 50 parts per million copper and 32 parts per million molybdenum (Property File Cyprus Anvil Carew McFall, C., 1970).
Heavy overburden covers the claim group and little is known of the specific geology. The general geology of the area consists of alternating bands of andesitic and basaltic volcanic flow rocks and limy argillites of Mesozoic age. The interbedded sediments and lavas are overlain by conglomerates and interstratified argillite and coarse grained sandstone.
In 1959, the Wed claims were staked by Lundberg Explorations Limited to cover a magnetic anomaly encountered during routine reconnaissance survey the previous year. Exploration work in 1959 on the by Totem Minerals Lt included detailed airborne electomagnetic and magnetic surveys totaling 644 kilometres and some soil sampling. The ground was restaked in 1969 as the Minou claims by R. A. Savidge and K. E. Kania as a result of encouraging soil sample assays in molybdenum and to a lesser extent, copper and the discovery of intrusive material in shallow hand-dug trenches. Ground magnetic and electromagnetic surveys carried out by the Savage and Kania showed encouraging conductors within the claim boundaries.
Cominco's 1992 hole intersected volcanoclastic rocks cut by a few dykes. Pyrite is disseminated throughout, but is most abundant in the lower half of the hole. Carbonate veinlets are abundant , quartz and quartz-calcite veins are only abundant locally. Analytical results indicated elevated copper values over large parts of the core, values over 100 ppm Cu are common. Average copper content of the latite agglomerate is 175 ppm Cu, and the average for the volcanoclastic intervals in the top half of the hole is 196 ppm. All gold values, except for one, were below the detection limit of 10 ppb.
In 2007 Rimfire conducted ad 307 km magnetic airborne survey on their Bark claim block over the old Wed area. The Bark survey block re-defined the northeast elongated oval magnetic high anomaly, which measured six kilometres long by two kilometres wide. This magnetic feature is dissected by a northeast linear magnetic low and northwest linear magnetic low interpreted to be cross-cutting faults.
