The Granite Mountain occurrence is located south of Moffat Creek, approximately 20 kilometres south of the community of Horsefly.
The area is underlain by the Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Takomkane batholith. Most of the property is covered by deep Quaternary glacial and fluvioglacial deposits. The only exposed bedrock is local outcrops of coarse-grained granodiorite cut by aplite dikes.
Mineralization comprises chalcopyrite and malachite associated with quartz veins and silicified zones within localized shears and fractures within the granodiorite body.
In 2007 and 2008, Eagle Peak Resources completed a program of geochemical sampling. In 2010 and 2011, Fjordland Exploration Inc. completed programs, including prospecting, geological mapping, soil sampling and induced polarization surveys on the as the Moffat property.
