The Hazel property is located 28 kilometres northwest of Horsefly and 55 kilometres east of Williams Lake. Road access from Horsefly or Likely to the claim block is via the Horsefly-Likely forestry road or the Gavin Lake forestry road. Parts of these roads are summer access only. A good network of logging roads provides accessibility throughout the property.

Rock exposure on the Hazel claims is limited to a few small outcrops and subcrops with the exception of the northeastern part of the property above Quesnel Lake, where there are bluffs. Four rock types were encountered in outcrop and drillholes and comprise Upper Triassic Nicola Group pyroxene phyric basalt and andesite, and coeval monzonite and monzodiorite. A K-feldspar porphyritic dike was intersected in a reverse circulation-drill hole. All rock units are variably propylitically altered, containing chlorite, epidote, carbonate and pyrite. Limonite and hematite are also observed in all units.

In 1993, a rock grab sample (H92-11) was collected along a forestry road from a fine-grained dark intrusive rock which analyzed 0.10 per cent copper (Assessment Report 22851).

There is little history of intensive exploration on the property. Soil sampling completed in the early 1970s turned up two strong copper anomalies. In 1992, Canim Lake Gold Corp. conducted a reconnaissance soil sampling program to test for copper anomalies. A total of 32.85 kilometres of grid lines (including baseline) were run and 299 soil samples were collected and analyzed for copper. Geological mapping was also conducted along the grid lines and 14 rock chip samples were collected and analyzed. A limited reverse circulation drill program was undertaken October, 1992 to test geochemical anomalies on the Hazel 3 claim. A total of 183 metres were drilled over three holes; eight soil samples were collected from the overburden and 52 drill chip samples were analyzed. In 1994, a Chinese gold oven, believed to date from the late 1800s, was discovered on the southwest portion of the Hazel 1 claim and led to speculation of possible gold mineralization on the property. In June of 1994, Canim Lake Gold Corp. established 4.7 kilometres of new grid lines and collected 144 soil samples from the Hazel 1 and 2 claims. During 2010 and 2011, Serengeti Resources, in-conjunction with Fjordland Exploration, completed programs of soil sampling and a 4.0 line-kilometre induced polarization survey.
