The Doreen (B.P.) occurrence is located south of Doreen Creek at an elevation of 1092 metres and approximately 1.3 kilometres east of the eastern end of Doreen Lake.
Regionally, the area lies within the eastern part of the Quesnel terrane and is underlain mainly by fine-grained marine sedimentary rocks and volcanic rocks of the lower part of an Upper Triassic Nicola Group. These have been intruded by bodies of Late Triassic to Early Jurassic dioritic to syenitic rocks.
Locally, the occurrence is underlain by a northwest–trending sequence of interbedded tuffs and argillites that grade to phyllites to the southeast. A basalt breccia occurs within the phyllite. A few zones have been outlined where phyllite contains abundant ankerite with 1 to 5 per cent pyrite and local silicification, quartz veins and rare chalcopyrite. Minor amounts of free gold have also been reported from metallic screening of samples. One outcrop of phyllite and feldspar porphyritic andesite is silicified over widths of 1 or 2 metres and contains approximately 5 per cent pyrite with arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite. Limonite alteration is common.
In 1982, an outcrop in the wall of a gravel quarry near Doreen Creek was channel sampled (11207), yielding 0.084 per cent copper, 5.83 grams per tonne silver and 0.69 gram per tonne gold over 0.3 metre, whereas a channel sample (11208) from a large boulder or outcrop, located 50 metres to the south, assayed 4.1 grams per tonne gold and silver over 1.0 metre (Property File - Monte Christo Resources Ltd. [1983-04-20]: Statement of Material Facts 91/83).
In 1983, two 2-metre chip samples from trenches yielded 4.97 and 4.04 grams per tonne gold, respectively (Assessment Report 11382). Percussion drill holes JD83-1, 2, 5, 7 and 8 intersected a mineralized zone, striking east-west and dipping 60 degrees south, yielding from 0.17 to 0.82 gram per tonne gold with an average of 0.56 gram per tonne gold over 2 metres (Assessment Report 11382).
In 1987, rock sampling (Doreen 3R) of the main Doreen zone yielded up to 0.78 gram per tonne gold, whereas rock sampling of the Ridge zone (GR87-22) to the northeast yielded up to 0.11 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Reports 16233 and 17215).
In 1989, diamond drilling (hole JD-88-2) yielded up to 0.61 gram per tonne gold over 1.4 metres from a zone of fracture argillite with abundant calcite veinlets hosting pyrrhotite and trace chalcopyrite (Assessment Report 22016).
In 1995, rock samples (DOR-5R) from former trenches yielded up to 1.21 grams per tonne gold and 0.148 per cent copper, whereas samples (DOR-3R and 9R) of massive sulphide boulders assayed up to 2.17 grams per tonne gold and 0.273 per cent copper (Assessment Report 24404).
The Jamboree 1-18 claims were first staked in 1981 by E & B Explorations Inc. as part of the RGS staking rush to cover an area of anomalous gold and arsenic values. Monte Christo Resources Limited optioned the property in 1982 and performed a series of geochemical surveys. The Jamboree 15 claim was part of a 265-unit block eventually acquired by Imperial Metals Corp. and covers the North Doreen (MINFILE 093A 191) and Doreen occurrences. Programs of grid and reconnaissance soil sampling were completed in 1982 and 1983, along with bulldozer trenching and 10 percussion drill holes on the newly discovered Doreen occurrence. During 1987 through 1988, programs of rock and soil sampling and 18.0 line-kilometres of ground geophysical surveying were completed on the Ridge zone to the northeast.
During 1987 through 1991, Imperial Metals Corp. completed programs of soil and rock sampling, geological mapping, ground geophysical surveys and two diamond drill holes, totalling 194.1 metres, on the area.
In 1995, the Reno claim was staked to cover the former Jamboree 15 claim of Imperial Metals Corp. Rock chip sampling and three plugger holes were completed on the North Doreen showing, and reconnaissance geology, prospecting and rock sampling were conducted on the Doreen showing by owner-operators H. Wahl and J. Brown-John.
In 2009, a program of geochemical (rock and heavy mineral) sampling was completed. During 2012 through 2017, Barker Minerals Ltd. completed programs of rock sampling and soil sampling on the area as the Doreen property.
