The Lord 8-10 (Beehive Ridge) occurrence is located on a ridge, later referred to as Beehive Ridge, separating the east and west arms of Twin Creek, at an elevation of approximately 2400 metres.
The area is underlain by sedimentary rocks and calc-alkaline volcanic rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Tchaikazan River succession and granodioritic intrusive rocks of the Late Cretaceous to Paleogene Bendor Suite.
Locally, a limonitic and sericitic-altered granodiorite with quartz veins host pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena and minor malachite mineralization over a distance of approximately 350 metres. The veins dip 20 to 40 degrees to the west- southwest, and are 2 to 20 centimetres wide along strike lengths of 1.5 to 10 metres.
In 1998, a grab sample (290) assayed 0.26 gram per tonne gold, greater than 100 grams per tonne silver, 0.994 per cent lead and 0.318 per cent zinc; while a 0.8 metre chip sample (294), taken to the east, assayed 0.17 gram per tonne gold, 11.2 grams per tonne silver and 0.184 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 25726).
In 2008, grab samples from the veins yielded up to 11.05 grams per tonne gold, greater than 100 grams per tonne silver, 0.88 per cent copper, 0.49 per cent molybdenum, 0.21 per cent zinc, 0.16 per cent antimony and greater than 1 per cent lead and arsenic, respectively (Assessment Report 31141).
Work History
The area has been historically explored in conjunction with the nearby Twin Creek (MINFILE 092O 121) occurrence. In 1998, Pellaire Gold Mines completed a program of geological mapping and rock, silt and soil sampling on the area. In 2005, Galore Resources completed programs of soil sampling, a 61.8 line-kilometre ground geophysical survey and a 188 line-kilometre airborne geophysical survey on the area. In 2008, Valor Resources completed a program of geochemical sampling and geological mapping on the area. In 2019, Blue Lagoon Resources Inc. competed a program of prospecting, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling and ground magnetic surveys on the area as part of the Pellaire Gold project.
