The Mount Tom occurrence is located along Nadila Creek, approximately 120 kilometres northwest of Clinton.

The area is underlain by argillite, siltstone and sandstone of the Upper Cretaceous Kingsvale Group. The bedding within the Kingsvale Group is generally flat-lying to gently dipping. Small plugs of biotite hornblende feldspar porphyry occur in the area along with chlorite-altered granodiorite.

Mineralization occurs as pyrite in areas of carbonate alteration with intense sericite and minor argillic alteration in granitoid dikes.

In 1980, Peter E. Walcott & Associates Ltd. completed a reconnaissance IP geophysical survey for J.M.T. Services Corp. in the Mount Tom area.

In 1990, Eighty-Eight Resources Ltd. completed an exploration program of geological mapping and soil geochemical sampling.

In 1991, Inco Ltd. completed geological mapping, prospecting and till sampling. Highlights include rock sampling RX-050939, which assayed 0.78 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 21752).

In 1992, Inco Ltd. completed a 3.9 line-kilometre IP geophysical survey.
