The Zen showing, located about 15 kilometres southwest of the southern end of Taseko lakes is underlain by rocks of the Jurassic to Tertiary Coast Plutonic Complex.
The showing occurs near the eastern margin of a granodiorite stock, presumed to be of Late Cretaceous or Early Tertiary age, which has intruded volcanic rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Taylor Creek Group exposed to the east.
Mineralization comprises chalcopyrite, pyrite and molybdenite within porphyry dykes which have intruded the granodiorite.
