Capsule Geology

The Knight (Knob) occurrence is located on the northern end of a small hill in the southern headwaters of West Nadila Creek, approximately 4 kilometres northwest of Nadila Lake and at an elevation of approximately 2100 metres. The occurrence is approximately 124 kilometres southwest of Williams Lake, B.C.

The area is primarily underlain by clastic sedimentary rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Taylor Creek Group and volcaniclastic rocks of the Upper Cretaceous Powell Creek Formation, which are cut by irregularly shaped dikes and stock-like bodies of Cretaceous to Tertiary hornblende feldspar porphyry. Well-hornfelsed and fractured lithologies include dark-grey argillaceous siltstone, brownish greywacke and chert-volcanic pebble conglomerate. These are capped by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Miocene to Pleistocene Chilcotin Group to the north and south.

Locally, disseminated-type gold mineralization is indicated from the assays of several rock samples of pyritic, variably siliceous, hornfelsed and carbonatized conglomerate sediments. Mineralization consists of 2 to 5 per cent pyrite with trace chalcopyrite. All sampling was concentrated within a 50 by 30 metre area of conglomerate outcroppings.

In 1980, Barrier Reef Resources Ltd. Completed a program of geological mapping and geochemical sampling (rock and soil) on the area as the NAD claims. During 1987 through 1989, programs of rock and soil sampling, prospecting and geological mapping were performed on the area as the DIL claims.

In 1990, Inco Ltd. completed a program of rock and silt sampling, geological mapping and a lone trench on the area as the KNIGHT claims. A lone panel chip sample (RX-046251) over a 1.2 by 0.5 metre area assayed 54.43 grams per tonne gold and 8.3 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 20428). In 1991, a program of rock sampling and geological mapping was completed on the Dil claims. In 1996, a minor soil sampling program was completed on the TANTE 1-8 claims. In 2010, a program of rock and soil sampling was completed on the DIL property.

In 2021, ArcPacific Resources Corp conducted a program of trenching (45 metres), rock sampling (127 samples) and 2 soil samples on their Blackdome Property. Trenching was completed at the Stibnite and West Zones. Anomalous high-grade gold and silver values (>1 gram per tonne gold equivalent) were obtained from both trenches along their entire lengths. Grab sample highlights were 8.23 grams per tonne gold, 27.7 grams per tonne silver associated with epithermal quartz veining showing vuggy, bladed, crustiform and coliform textures. A high-grade gold sample of 8.37 grams per tonne gold, 2.71 grams per tonne silver was returned from silicified siltstone proximal to the historic 1990 knob (KNIGHT) showing (Assessment Report 39774).
