The Mount Hoy occurrence is located in the eastern headwaters of Noomas Creek, on a steep west-northwest facing slope of Mount Hoy and at an elevation of approximately 1180 metres.

The area is underlain by limestone of the Upper Triassic Quatsino Formation (Vancouver Group) which are overlayed by basaltic volcaniclastic rocks and carbonaceous sedimentary rocks of the Upper Triassic Parson Bay Formation (Bonanza Group). The volcanic and sedimentary rocks have been intruded by granodioritic rocks of the Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite.

Locally, a showing of chalcopyrite, pyrite and pyrrhotite is reported. No other information is available.
