The BW occurrence is located on south east facing slopes, approximately 2 kilometres east of Jansen Bay.
The Kyoquot Peninsula is underlain by sediments and volcanics of the Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group, comprised of a lower sequence of calcareous sediments overlain by intermediate flows and intermediate to felsic pyroclastics. The Bonanza Group in the region of the BW occurrence strikes east and dips between 25 to 55 degrees to the south.
A medium-grained syeno-diorite stock occurs 11.0 kilometres north at the head of Kashutl Inlet. A quartz porphyry stock is reported at Malskope River, 9.0 kilometres northwest (Assessment Report 3008, page 4).
The occurrence consists of minor disseminations and veinlets of chalcopyrite in dark green andesite.
In 1970, the Kyuquot Syndicate completed a program of reconnaissance silt and soil sampling on the area as the BW claims. During 1986 through 1989, Taywin Resources completed programs of geological mapping and geochemical sampling on the area as the Sin 1-7 claims.
