The area is underlain by Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation volcanic rocks which are overlain on their northeastern margin by a northwest trending belt of Quatsino Formation limestones known historically as the "lime-belt". These are in fault and/or intrusive contact to the northeast with Jurassic to Tertiary intrusive rocks of the Coast Plutonic Complex.

The WFP 22 skarn deposit is underlain by basaltic or andesitic volcanics with interbeds of limestone. On the surface the skarn shows many lenses and small blocks of porphyritic andesite and is cut by quartz veins. Drill core samples show mineralization at various depths, always associated with a light grey skarn. Arsenopyrite, pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite are the main sulphides.

One 1.2 metre surface chip sample assayed 4.05 grams per tonne gold, 13.03 grams per tonne silver and 0.02 per cent copper (Assess- ment Report 5680).
