Capsule Geology

The BEE occurrence is located on the southwest side of upper Steep Creek, approximately 3 kilometres east of McDonald Lake and 5.5 kilometres east of Gold Bridge, B.C.

The area is underlain by Mississippian to Jurassic Bridge River Complex (Group) siliceous cherty sediments, argillites, limestones and volcanics. This package is intruded by granodiorite plugs of the Cretaceous to Tertiary Bendor pluton and also contains masses of serpentinite. Porphyritic dikes, probably Tertiary, also cut these rocks.

Locally, massive arsenopyrite and pyrite mineralization are exposed in former trenches. In 1970, a chip sample (8751A) assayed 0.01 per cent copper, 0.155 per cent cobalt, 48.2 grams per tonne silver and 19.3 grams per tonne gold over 0.45 metre (Assessment Report 5761).

In 1975, a program of rock sampling, trenching and a ground magnetometer survey were completed on the area as the Bee claims. In 1981, a program of airborne geophysical surveys was completed on the area. In 1983 and 1984, Newmont completed programs of rock, silt and soil sampling and geological mapping on the area as the Ranger 1-4 claims. During 1985 through 1988, Levon Resources completed programs of trenching, rock and soil sampling and airborne geophysical surveys on the area.

In 2021, Wild West Gold Corp. conducted a drone magnetic survey over the Bee showing and nearby areas. Two northwest-striking magnetic highs are postulated to be southern extensions of Endurance Gold's Steep Creek and Royal shear zones. (Assessment Report 39702).
