The RED EAGLE mercury prospect is to the southwest of the Yalakom River, 1 kilometre above its confluence with Shulaps Creek and approximately 36 kilometres northwest of Lillooet, B.C.

The occurrence is within massive to pillowed green to reddish brown greenstone and greenstone breccia with irregular bands of diabase. These rocks are informally referred to as the East Liza Igneous Suite which is, in turn, tentatively correlated with the Permian Bralorne Igneous Complex.

The rocks are considerably fractured and veined by ankerite, dolomite and quartz. Cinnabar occurs as narrow stringers, blebs, disseminated grains and films on fracture planes within the greenstone and greenstone breccia. Pyrite is sparsely disseminated.

Two adits and numerous trenches explore the prospect; in 1941 and 1942, 232 kilograms of mercury were produced from 23 tonnes of ore. In 1966 the Red Eagle prospect was amalgamated with the Eagle Mercury prospect (092JNE062) across the Yalakom River, as the Eagle Property. Work completed by Lillooet Mercury Mines Ltd. and later Condor Mines Ltd. by 1971 included 4,785 metres of diamond drilling, 274 metres of underground exploration, 1, 768 metres of trenching, stripping and surveying and geological mapping. Reserves for the whole area are estimated at 641,702 tonnes at a grade of 10.21 kilograms of per tonne mercury (1 per cent) (George Cross News Letter No.122, 1971). Indicated and measured ore has been estimated at 1,658,000 tonnes grading 0.195 per cent mercury (Assessment Report 16280).

Sporadic work continued throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In 1991, Comaplex Minerals Corp. conducted rock and talus sampling across the property. None of the samples returned anomalous gold values, but one float sample (Sample 91782203) of malachite-stained rock from the Red Eagle showing vicinity returned readings of 0.8 per cent copper and 0.13 per cent antimony (Assessment Report 21937).

In 2019, Talisker Resources Ltd. conducted a geological and geochemical sampling program over their Lola project area, including the Eagle property. Prospecting along ankerite-silica alteration corridors included the collection of 62 rock samples, 32 talus fines and 321 soil samples. Although no gold and silver anomalies were detected, high values of mercury, antimony and arsenic were common. Sample number C0009893, an altered greenstone from the Eagle Mercury prospect, hosting disseminated tetrahedrite, malachite and azurite along fractures returned values of 4140 parts per million mercury, 184.5 parts per million antimony, 5.63 grams per tonne silver, 1310m parts per million arsenic and 1.2 per cent copper (Assessment Report 39157).

In 2021, Talisker continued exploration with the collection of 18 rock samples and 773 soil samples on the Lola property, successfully identifying gold and pathfinder element soil anomalies. Rock sample R0105061 collected from a road cut outcrop 2.2 kilometres southwest of the Red Eagle prospect, south of Shulaps Creek, returned values of 14.35 grams per tonne gold, 1.08 grams per tonne silver, 37,800 parts per million arsenic and 116 parts per million antimony (Assessment Report 40008).
