The Al (Ezz 13) occurrence is located approximately 1.5 kilometres northeast of the north end of Big O.K. Lake, in the west-central Highland Valley.
The area is underlain by early Jurassic late Triassic Guichon Creek Batholith Bethsaida phase granodiorites and Skeena variety quartz diorites to the south and southwest. These occur in fault contact with Eocene Kamloops Group volcanic and intrusive rocks to the northwest.
Locally, at the Area E (Ezz 13 and Pal 1 claims), trenching has exposed chlorite- and sericite-altered, northeast-trending, fractured and brecciated Bethsaida quartz diorite with local, minor chalcopyrite, bornite and malachite staining. Two dominant joint sets strike 285 to 308 degrees and 052 to 075 degrees, respectively. Bornite, chalcopyrite and malachite appear locally on silicified and sericite-altered joints as well as disseminated through the adjacent rock.
At least four other areas of copper mineralization, referred to as the F, G, H and D zones, are reported approximately 350 metres to the north (F zone) on the Ezz 23-24 claims and approximately 900 to 1000 metres to the east and southeast (G, H and D zones) along a north-south trend on the Call 1-4 claims. The type(s) of copper mineralization are not reported, except at the F zone, which consists of disseminated chalcopyrite, but all zones are hosted in Bethsaida quartz diorite. Another mineralized zone, composed of trace malachite in Skeena quartz diorite, is reported on the hill east of Two Jack Lake, approximately 1.5 kilometres to the northwest.
In 1969, a diamond drill hole (69-4), located north of the G zone on the Al 8 claim, yielded 0.64 per cent copper over 0.6 metre (Property File - Bacon, W.R. [1970-03-17]: Report on the Highland Valley property of Arlington Silver Mines Ltd.).
In 2008, two diamond drill holes intersected porphyry-style copper mineralization yielding 0.28 per cent copper over 21 metres, including 1.40 per cent copper over 2.6 metres in hole 08-05 and 0.44 per cent copper over 13.4 metres, including 1.18 per cent copper over 3.3 metres in hole 08-06 (Assessment Report 30283). These holes were completed to the east and west, respectively, of the G, H and D zones.
The area has been historically explored in conjunction with the nearby Alwin-O.K. (MINFILE 092ISW010) past-producing mine. In 1961, Royal Canadian Ventures completed a program of geological mapping and ground magnetic surveys on the area. In 1967, Arlington Silver Mines completed an induced polarization survey on the area. In 1969 and 1970, Arlington Silver Mines examined the area and completed at least 30 diamond and percussion drill holes.
In 2006, Max Investments Ltd. completed a program of soil sampling and a 35.0 line-kilometre induced polarization survey on the area. In 2008, San Marco Resources Inc. completed seven surface diamond drill holes, totalling 1304.5 metres, on the area.
