The Plug occurrence is located immediately south of Meadow Creek, approximately 13 kilometres southeast of the community of Logan Lake.

The area is underlain by volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group that are cut by small granitic plugs and sills. Sparse outcroppings of Nicola Group rocks along Meadow Creek consist of altered andesite, lapilli tuff, amygdaloidal basalt and minor lenses of limy sediments that strike east to southeast and dip steeply to the north. Alteration minerals include chlorite, epidote, carbonate and hematite.

Locally, a quartz-mariposite-carbonate–altered andesite, lapilli tuff and limey sediment outcrops along Meadow Creek and is in contact with a chlorite-mica-feldspar schist and mafic dioritic to hornblende andesite sills, which strike 20 degrees and dip 65 to 90 degrees to the east. The schist and mafic dioritic to hornblende andesite sills form a southeast-plunging asymmetrical syncline. Fuschite and minor malachite are also reported. The altered zone is associated with a 1- to 2-metre wide, east-west–striking, moderately south-dipping shear zone that has been traced along strike by trenching for 10 metres.

The quartz mariposite carbonate rock contains minor amounts of silver-bearing galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite. An outcrop of highly pyritic quartz feldspar porphyry contains minor amounts of chalcopyrite.

In 1988, a grab sample (88-23) of carbonate-altered rock from a historical trench assayed 7.5 grams per tonne gold and 67.5 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 18048).

In 1995, five rock samples yielded from 0.060 to 2.620 grams per tonne gold and 1.8 to 114.5 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 24862).

In 1997, sampling of trench-02 yielded an average of 4.35 grams per tonne gold and 52.2 grams per tonne silver over a strike length of 11.98 metres and a width of 1.33 metres, including 20.78 grams per tonne gold and 113.0 grams per tonne silver over a width of 0.56 metre (Assessment Report 25405). The same year, percussion drilling (PDH-02) tested trench-02 and returned an average of 1.30 grams per tonne gold and 17.2 grams per tonne silver over a length of 9.91 metres (Assessment Report 25405).

In 2002, Commerce Resource Corporation reports a best mineralized drill intersection of 3.5 metres containing 2.83 grams per tonne gold and 37.7 grams per tonne silver (Press Release June 14, 2002).

Work History

In 1972, Texada Mines Ltd. completed a program of geological mapping, soil sampling, eight percussion drillholes, totalling 420 metres, and ground magnetic, induced polarization and self-potential surveys on the area as the Plug claims. No drilling results are known. A series of historical trenches likely also date to this time. Also at this time, Newco Ventures Ltd. completed a soil sampling program on the area immediately south of the occurrence as the DES claims.

In 1982 and 1983, Visa Resources Ltd. completed programs of soil sampling and ground magnetic surveys on the area as the Nada 1-4 claims.

During 1986 through 1988, Western Resources Technologies completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical (rock, silt and soil) sampling and geophysical (induced polarization, electromagnetic and magnetometer) surveys on the area as the WRT claims.

In 1992, G.F. Crooker completed a program of magnetometer and very low frequency electromagnetic surveys on the area as the JB claims.

In 1995, Goldcliff Resource Corp. staked the area as the S 1-48 claims and completed a program of prospecting and sampling. The following year, a program of geochemical (rock, silt and soil) sampling and ground electromagnetic and magnetic surveys were completed on the claims. In 1997, a program of trenching and eight rotary drill holes, totalling 545.6 metres, were completed on the claims.

In 2003 and 2004, Dancing Star Resources Ltd. completed program of photogeological interpretation, soil sampling and a 1.2 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey on the area immediately south of the occurrence as the Sed claim. In 2006, Alcor Resources Ltd. completed a 5.0 line-kilometre ground magnetic and electromagnetic survey on the Sed claim. Also at this time, Laurence Sookochoff completed a 3.0 line-kilometre electromagnetic survey on the Sed claim.

In 2006, Goldcliff Resources Corp. completed a program of prospecting and geochemical (rock and silt) sampling on the area as the Plug property.

In 2007, Alcor Resources Ltd. completed a 2.8 line-kilometre ground electromagnetic survey was completed on the Sed claim. During 2008 through 2019, Balto Resources Ltd. completed programs of soil sampling, 52.9 line-kilometres of ground electromagnetic surveys and a 4.3 line-kilometre self-potential survey on the Sed claim.

Also, during 2015 through 2019, Kenneth Ellerbeck completed programs of prospecting and minor rock sampling on the area as the Plug property. The following year, Baden Resources Inc. completed a program of rock sampling, photo interpretation (structural analysis) and a 32.8 line-kilometre ground magnetic and electromagnetic survey on the area.

In 2020, Baden Resources Inc. completed a program of rock sampling, photo interpretation (structural analysis) and a 32.8 line-kilometre ground magnetic and electromagnetic survey on the area as the Bertha property.
