The Sar occurrence is located south of Hollis Creek, approximately 1 kilometre south west of its junction with Moore Creek.
The area is underlain by Upper Triassic Nicola Group andesite and basalt with thin interbedded sedimentary and pyroclastic rocks. Diorite to gabbro dykes and plugs occur within the Nicola Group rocks. To the west the area is underlain by pink-grey quartz diorite. The contact between this unit and the Nicola Group trends north, as do fractures and topographic lineaments.
Locally, several old hand-trenched pits expose quartz veins, varying from 0.3 to 1.5 metres wide, hosting pyrite and chalcopyrite mineralization. The veins are emplaced along a shear zone in biotite chlorite schist, garnetiferous aplite and quartz hornblende feldspar gneiss. In 1972, a select sample of mineralized vein assayed 1.18 per cent copper and 36.9 grams per tonne silver (Property File - C.M. Rebagliati [1972-12-11]: Report - Webber Project 1972).
Another mineralized quartz-feldspar vein, varying from 5 centimetres to 2.4 metres wide, is reported to host small pockets of pyrite and molybdenite in fractured zones. The vein strikes 40 degrees east, dips steeply to the west and has been exposed over a length of 93 metres. In 1972, a select sample (4601) assayed 6.72 per cent molybdenite and 4.4 grams per tonne silver (Property File - Twin River Resources Ltd. [1972-08-11]: Prospectus Report on the Sack Claim Group).
In 1973, a diamond drill hole, located approximately 500 metres north east, is reported to have yielded 68.4 grams per tonne silver over 9 metres (Property File - G.H. Rayner [1980-04-13]: Moore Creek Property Examination).
During 1970 through 1972, Newconex Canadian Exploration completed programs of geological mapping and soil and rock sampling on the area. In 1973, Triex Resources completed a geochemical soil sampling program on the area as the Sar claims. Also at this time, Sumitomo Mining completed programs of electromagnetic surveys and an unknown amount of diamond drilling on the area. In 1980 and 1981, Esperanza Explorations completed a program of soil and rock sampling and electromagnetic surveys on the area as the Anderson property.
