The PF-2 occurrence is located Silver Creek, an east flowing tributary of Vanstone (Horseshoe) Creek, approximately 17 kilometres north-northeast of the town of Gold River.

The majority of the property is underlain by grey-green weathering, quartz-calcite amygdaloidal basalt of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation. The basalt sequence is cut by five distinct intrusive suites, which include: lamprophyre dykes; medium-grained, equigranular granodiorite dykes; strongly feldspar-hornblende porphyritic dykes of intermediate composition; a fresh, hornblende granodiorite stock of likely Early Cretaceous age; and a small, poorly exposed stock, or dyke, of dioritic composition near the north-west corner of the property. Silicification, chloritization and epidotization are observed and a 914 by 305 metre area contains abundant disseminated pyrite.

Locally, narrow sulphide veins are exposed in a creek bed. Mineralization consists of pyrrhotite, pyrite and minor chalcopyrite. In 1972, a sample (19558) assayed 0.48 per cent copper and 23.0 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 3953).

Massive chalcopyrite-sphalerite float has been found on the next creek north. In 1972, a sample (PF-2) of float assayed 43.6 grams per tonne gold, 85.8 grams per tonne silver, 11.44 per cent copper and 0.14 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 3953).

In 1969 and 1972, Moresby Mines completed programs of geological mapping and rock and soil sampling on the area as the Vanhall claims. In 1980 and 1981, Eastern Leaseholds completed programs of soil sampling and airborne electromagnetic and magnetic surveys. During 1994 through 1997, Cominco completed programs of geological mapping, geochemical sampling and ground magnetic and electromagnetic surveys on the area as the Chum claims. In 2011, Universal Ventures Inc. completed a program of geochemical sampling, geological mapping and an airborne geophysical survey on the area as the Tib claims, Tibor property.

In 2017 and 2018 an interpretive study followed by limited rock sampling was conducted in the Vanstone Creek area by tenure holder K. Galambos (Assessment Reports 37381, 38287). Two small cobbles of massive sulphide float were found in Silver Creek, approximately 120 m downstream of the PF-2 showing, confirming historic discoveries of similar material. These samples returned values of 0.72 per cent Cu, 0.51 grams per tonne Au, 141 grams per tonne Ag, 0.03 per cent Pb and 0.08 per cent Zn from sample 1043755.
