The Baseline occurrence is underlain by amygdaloidal basalt of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group).

Abundant, substantially weathered veinlet and disseminated pyrite occurs in moderately to strongly fractured basalt. A rock channel sample collected over 1.8 metres of exposed outcrop assayed 0.86 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 17947).
