The Pat 3 showing is located on Patlicant Mountain, 3 kilometres north-northwest of the Pat 1 showing (092F 457), about 12 kilometres southeast of Port Alberni.
The area is underlain by siltstone, shale and coal of the Cretaceous Haslam Formation (Nanaimo Group) which is intruded by diorite of the Tertiary Mount Washington Intrusive Suite (Personal Communication - N. Massey, May 1990).
A sulphide lens up to 1 metre long occurs in the intrusive rocks. Mineralization is likely chalcopyrite and pyrite.
In 1985 and 1986, the area was explored by Ashworth Explorations as part of the Pat 3 claim. A sample assayed 1,420 parts per million copper and 2.0 parts per million silver (Assessment Report 15196).
In 2006, M. Becherer prospected the area as the Shayne claim.
