The MOR occurrence is located on the north west side of the Alberni-Bamfield road, near were it crosses Parsons Creek.
The area is underlain by andesite intruded by minor coarse grained mafic intrusives. Massive, medium to coarse-grained diorite of the Early to Middle Jurassic Island Intrusions are observed locally. The andesite may belong to the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation, Vancouver Group or to the Lower Jurassic Bonanza Group.
Chalcopyrite and bornite with minor malachite is found in association with quartz in very narrow shear zones where the road crosses Parsons Creek. A grab sample of mineralized material assayed 2.84 per cent copper (Assessment Report 11368)
In 1978, the MOR claim was prospected by R. McIntosh. In 1983, the area was prospected by Rich Lode Gold Corp. as the Dusty Copper and Dusty Creek claims in conjunction with the Union Jack (MINFILE 092F 213) occurrence to the north west.
Chalcopyrite and malachite were also found in the bed of Parsons Creek about 300 metres downstream from the bridge. Mineralization was confined to a breccia zone in the andesite.
