The Bay claims are located on north western Flores Island, between Sterling Bay and Riley Lake.

The area is underlain by a diorite-granodiorite complex of the Jurassic Island Plutonic Suite. This complex has been intruded by later quartz-diorite and granodiorite of the Eocene Catface Intrusions Late aplite and porphyry dykes crosscut both intrusions.

Locally, sporadic chalcopyrite mineralization occurs in association with siliceous and sub-porphyritic phases of the younger quartz-diorite, mainly in the vicinity of Starling Bay. The mineralization is erratic and localized along several narrow fracture zones and as disseminations adjacent to these fractures.

Twelve grab samples returned values from 0.01 to 0.30 per cent copper, averaging 0.07 per cent copper with low values in gold and up to 3.4 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 3240).

In 1971, Canadian Superior Exploration completed a program prospecting, geological mapping and geochemical sampling.
