The TAM 16 showing is located on the Jasper 1 claim, about 900 metres south of the Jasper 1 (Main) showing (092C 080) between Caycuse Creek and Jasper Creek 7 kilometres northeast of the north end of Nitinat Lake.
The area is underlain by mafic to felsic volcanics, breccia, tuff and siltstone of the Lower Jurassic Bonanaza Group. The rocks are fractured and have undergone faulting and shearing.
Sulphide mineralization on the Jasper 1 claim occurs in three styles: 1) massive 2) fracture-filling and 3) disseminated.
In the area, medium grained pyrite, sphalerite and chalcopyrite occur within fractures. Disseminated sulphides occur as pyrite in fracture zones and chalcopyrite and sphalerite related to massive or fracture-filling sulphides. Massive sulphides occur at the Main showing (092C 080). All occurrences located on the property, except one, are localized within elongate fracture zones.
The showing comprises pyrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite hosted in fractured, silicified and kaolin altered intermediate volcanic rocks. Epidotization and hematization of mafic and, to a lesser extent, felsic volcanic rocks is common. Chloritization is rare except in the chlorite breccia unit. In 2004, twelve grab samples of outcrop at the main showing were assayed and returned up to 5.65 per cent copper, 21.6 grams per tonne silver and 0.14 grams per tonne gold over 0.3 metres (sample 183551) and thirteen representative outcrop chip samples yielded the following results: 1.95 per cent copper, 5.6 grams per tonne silver and 0.03 grams per tonne gold over 0.9 meters (148901), and 0.144 per cent copper, 1.3 grams per tonne silver, 0.02 grams per tonne gold over 2.6 meters (183542-183544 inclusive) including 0.601 per cent copper, 2.0 grams per tonne silver and 0.060 grams per tonne gold over 0.6 meters (183544).
The Line 4200 East occurrences, located 200 metres to the east of the main showing, consists of gossanous and silicified felsic volcanics with banding striking at 070 degrees and dipping at 75 degrees, and containing 3 per cent fine to course grained sulphides. In 2004, a lone grab sample (183564) yielded values of 0.9999 per cent copper, 6.1 grams per tonne silver and 0.18 grams per tonne gold over 2.0 metres (Assessment Report 27657).
The Upper 4 Mile Creek Road Log Sort occurrence, located 200 metres east of the main showing, consists of silicified, sericitic chloritic and locally brecciated felsic to intermediate volcanics containing 5 to 10 per cent fine grained disseminated sulphides, dipping gently north. The outcrop exposure has a 3 meter apparent length and a1 meter apparent width. In 2004, a lone grab sample (148816) yielded values of 0.242 per cent copper, 22.6 grams per tonne silver and 0.22 grams per tonne gold and three continuous representative chip samples (148689, 148690, 148691) yielded an averaged of 0.572 per cent copper, 2.8 grams per tonne silver, 0.12 grams per tonne gold over 1 meter (Assessment Report 27657).
The Line 4100 East occurrences, located 400 metres to the east of the main showing, consists of silicified and locally brecciated, chloritic and hematitic felsic to intermediate volcanics containing 5 to 10 per cent disseminated, blebby and stockwork sulphides over a width of 0.25 meters. In 2004, a grab sample (183557) assayed 0.840 per cent copper, 18.2 grams per tonne silver and 0.35 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 27657).
The Jasper property consists of three MINFILE occurrences known from north to south as the Jasper 1 (092C 080), Tam 16 (092C 081) and the Pan (Easy)(092C 088). The Tam and Easy properties were previously staked by Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting who conducted geological mapping, soil and rock geochemistry and an induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey in 1970 and 1971. Also in 1971 , Marshall Creek Copper conducted and extensive soil sampling survey on the Pan (Easy) and Tam properties. In 1980 and 1981, Malibar Mines conducted soil sampling on the Jasper property. In 1984, a prospecting program was carried out by Ron Bilquest. Falconbridge followed in 1985 by conducting a geological, soil and VLF-electromagnetic program. Asamara then conducted a brief geology, soil and electromagnetics survey in 1987. The property lapsed and was relocated by Arne Birkeland in 1994. Geological mapping and sampling consisting of 39 rocks, 40 silts and 133 soils was carried out. A geological and geochemical progam was completed in 1995. The property was optioned to Consolidated Taywin Resources Inc. (later renamed Inspiration Mining Corporation) in 1995 and from December 1995 to June 1996, a work program was carried out consisting of 84 soil samples, a 1.2 kilometre IP survey, a 3 kilometre VLF and Horizontal Loop survey and a 2.1 kilometre ground magnetics survey. During 2000 through 2003, Inspiration Mining Corp. completed various programs of soil, moss mat, stream sediment and rock chip sampling on the Jasper Property, primarily on the Pan (092C 088) occurrence. This work extended the 1998 grid to the north and south and identified numerous polymetallic geochemical anomalies associated with gossanous alteration zone over a strike length of 1.6 kilometres. In 2004, programs of soil and stream sediment surveys and rock sampling were completed on the property. During this work the original Tam occurrence was relocated and sampled. In 2007, a 4-sample geochronology sampling and analysis program was completed, suggesting a possible Jurassic age for the sulphide mineralization. In 2008, Inspiration Mining completed a program airborne electromagnetic and magnetic geophysical surveys, totalling 817.9 line-kilometres. In 2010 and 2011, Nitinat Mineral Corp. completed programs of geochemical sampling, prospecting, geological mapping and trenching on the Jasper property.
