The Sally 2 occurrence is located on the western slope of Mount Richard, south east of Westholme.

The area is underlain by gabbro (informally knopwn as the Mount Hall Gabbro), coeval with the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group), which is intrusive into Upper Devonian Sicker Group volcanics of the McLaughlin Ridge Formation.

Locally, a 14 metre long adit follows a fracture in diorite (gabbro?) and contains a few small quartz lenses from 0.5 metres wide to 2 metres in length. Locally, clusters of sulphides, mainly pyrite and chalcopyrite, are present in the quartz, especially where northwest trending fractures intersect the main fracture. A sample of high-grade material assayed 5.6 per cent copper and nil in silver and gold (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1949, page 225).

In 1969, Canpac Minerals explored the area as the Sirius claims. A program of geological mapping and a ground magnetic survey was completed. In 1978, the area, immediately east, was staked as the Croft 2 claim and a program of geological mapping and soil sampling was completed. In 1983, the area was staked as the West claims by R.J. Bilquist and a program of prospecting was completed. In 1984 and 1985, Falconbridge optioned the property and completed programs of geochemical sampling and an airborne geophysical survey. In 1987, Falconbridge completed a drilling program of 10 holes, totalling 3170.7 metres, in the vicinity of Breen Lake on the West 1 claim. In 2010, Westridge Resources completed a program of geological mapping and geochemical sampling on the Breen Lake area.
