The Redtop 2 occurrence is located on Mount McClennan at an elevation of approximately 1520 metres.
The area is underlain by chlorite schist and greenstone of Lower Cambrian age and phyllite with intercalated sediments of Mississippian age, both of the Eagle Bay Formation.
Locally, a former trench exposes quartz veins with sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and pyrite. A sample (708934) assayed 2.65 per cent zinc and 3.9 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 33467).
In 2012, Montego Resources completed a program of rock sampling and airborne geophysical surveys on the area. The area has been previously explored on conjunction with the nearby Red Top (082M 044) occurrence.
