The Lookout showing is located on Vavenby Mountain, approximately 6.5 kilometres south of the community of Vavenby.
In 1984, the Lookout claims were staked and prospected by A.J. Davidson to cover several soil anomalies.
The area is underlain by metavolcanics and metasediments of the Devonian to Mississippian Eagle Bay Formation. Copper mineralization occurs in quartz-sericite phyllite derived largely from felsic to intermediate volcanics. Other rock units include chloritic phyllite, dark grey graphitic phyllite, quartz-sericite schist, sericitic quartzite and chert.
Locally, disseminated mineralization of chalcopyrite and pyrite is reported in sericite schist. No grades are known but mineralization is described as being similar to that of the VM showing (MINFILE 082M 109), 3 kilometres to the west.
