The Pine occurrence is located in the eastern headwaters of Cicero Creek and approximately 3.5 kilometres south of the head of Skwaam Bay on Adams Lake.

Regionally, the area is underlain by calc-silicate metamorphic rocks of the Lower Paleozoic Mount Ida Assemblage and orthogneiss metamorphic rocks of the Devonian Eagle Bay Assemblage.

Locally, chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite occur in quartz-calcite stockworks and fractures within meta-volcanics. Banded pyrrhotite and minor chalcopyrite mineralization occurs in skarn zones associated with limestone, mafic schists and/or argillites within a package of calcareous phyllites. Oxidization is common with abundant limonite, hematite and minor malachite. Chlorite, sericite, garnet and carbonate alterations are also reported.

In 1986, rock samples SBS-009 and SBS-033 from malachite-stained zones assayed 0.196 and 0.160 per cent copper with 1.6 and 2.1 grams per tonne silver, respectively, whereas a rock sample (6016) from a quartz stockwork zone assayed 0.104 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 15908).

In 1988, rock samples 5009 and 5035 assayed up to 0.500 per cent lead, 0.286 per cent antimony, 5.8 grams per tonne silver and 0.06 gram per tonne gold, whereas two other rock samples (SBS-294 and SBS-348) assayed 0.845 and 0.914 per cent copper with 6.1 and 7.9 grams per tonne silver, respectively (Assessment Report 17592).

In 1989, sampling of a trench yielded up to 0.142 per cent copper (Sample 9WSBL013; Assessment Report 20107).

In 1978, Craigmont Mines Ltd. completed a soil sampling program on the area as the CI 1-2 claims. During 1986 through 1989, Minnova Inc. completed programs of rock sampling, geological mapping, trenching and 30.8 line-kilometres of ground electromagnetic surveying on the area as the SBS 1-6 claims.
