The Lead King prospect is located at the head of La Forme Creek, approximately 29 kilometres north east of Revelstoke. The Mastadon occurrence (MINFILE 082M 005) is located 3000 metres to the north west.
The showings were first located 1918 as the Lyttle Group, with minor exploration continuing through to the 1950’s. In 2008-2010, Rich River Exploration Ltd. performed a series of geochemical and geological surveys of showing as apart of their Allco-Redtop-Slide Project.
The showings occur in northeasterly dipping limestones and dolomites. The carbonates and adjoining phyllites to the southeast are isoclinally folded and highly sheared.
Four or five lenses of sphalerite and galena are exposed along the dolomite band for about 60 metres and are concentrated in a poorly defined zone a few metres wide.
