The Pee Pee 50 showing is located about 25 kilometres southwest of Cranbrook and 10 kilometres west of Moyie Lake.
At the Pee Pee 50 showing, galena is associated with metacrysts of biotite and pyrrhotite within granular quartzites of the Helikian Aldridge Formation (Purcell Supergroup). There is no obvious local association to the intrusive sills and the mineralization is similar to other occurrences in the Kitchener-Yahk area.
In 1966 and 1967, Cominco Ltd. conducted an exploration program consisting of the collection of 560 soil samples and 1500 hectares of geological mapping over their Pee Pee claim group (Assessment Report 1063). This work led to the discovery of the Pee Pee (082GSW038), Pee Pee 50 (082GSW042), and Pee Pee 55 (082GSW043) showings.
In 1993 Wealth Resources, Otis-J Exploration Corp. and Pacific Mariner Exploration Ltd conducted work on their Bob 1-20 claim, located north of Lamb Creek and south of Rabbit Foot Creek (Assessment Report 23286). This work was conducted over the area of the Pee Pee 50 showing.
Prospecting in 1998 on behalf of Sedex Mining Corp was done on PP 1-13 claims which covered the headwaters of Rabbit Foot Creek (Assessment Report 25849). Float siltstone that was biotite-rich with pyrrhotite, galena and sphalerite was found. The source was probably a northeast fracture zone in a cliff face. In 1997, Sedex collected gravity data over the PP 1-13 claims over 12 kilometres (Assessment Report 25395).
Refer to Pee Pee 55 (082GSW043) and McNeil Creek (082GSW024) for related geological information and work history.
