The Beth showing is located about 69 kilometres southeast of Fernie and about 0.5 kilometre north of Sage Creek.
The area of the Beth showing is underlain by green shales of the Helikian Purcell Supergroup that are interbedded with a red sandstone lens 15 to 60 centimetres thick which is host to chalcopyrite mineralization. Sample 4810 assayed 2.0 per cent copper and 47.31 grams per tonne silver; sample 4966 assayed 0.39 per cent copper, 7.2 grams per tonne silver, and 2.75 per cent lead (Assessment Report 4535). The highest gold value returned was 0.34 gram per tonne.
In 1970, an exploration program by Alcor Minerals over the Commerce area consisted of sampling sediments in streams draining several Flathead River properties, including the Tri, Top, and the Stang/Paul claim groups, all within an area bound by Commerce Creek and La Coulotte Ridge, and south to, and along Sage Creek (Assessment Report 3160). A total of 231 samples were collected and assayed for copper, lead, and zinc. Thirty-one mineral occurrences were discovered on, and adjacent to, the Flathead River properties. Many of these mineral occurrences were reported as “unimportant” but still of interest.
Work done in 1972 and 1973 by Kintla Explorations Limited was completed over the Beth, Commerce, and Sunkist Claim Groups. Geological mapping and sampling were carried out (Assessment Report 4535).
