The Debbie occurrence is located in the southeastern headwaters of Connor Creek, a tributary of Rover Creek and approximately 16 kilometres southwest of Nelson.

The area is underlain by argillite, siltstone, limestone and chert of the Jurassic Ymir Group that have been intruded by diorite of the Middle Jurassic Bonnington Pluton. Roof pendants of Lower Jurassic Elise Formation (Rossland Group) volcanic rocks occur in the area. Skarn has been noted in outcrop and in rocks found on the adit dumps.

Locally, massive sulphide mineralization occurs, over a length of up to 40 centimetres, in narrow veinlets and stockworks associated with chloritization and silicification. The zone averages 1.25 metres in width. The upper adit follows a shear, 1 to 30 centimetres wide, in metavolcanic rock. Mineralization consists of pods of massive sulphides comprising pyrrhotite, pyrite and chalcopyrite. The lower adit, located 60 metres down slope to the northwest, apparently did not encounter significant mineralization.

In 1984, samples from the adit assayed from 27.4 to 34.28 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 12139).

In 1986, two chip samples (DBD09 and DBD14) of leached massive sulphides yielded 10.7 and 11.4 grams per tonne gold over 0.3 and 0.6 metre, respectively, and a grab sample (4446) of pyrite in altered rock assayed 33.6 grams per tonne gold and 52.0 grams per tonne silver (Property File - Bullion Range Exploration [1987-09-22]: Prospectus Report on the Debbie Claim).

In 1988, diamond drilling yielded up to 3.63 grams per tonne gold, 0.20 per cent copper and 5.5 grams per tonne silver over 61 centimetres from a stockwork in sheared dacite intercepted in hole 88-3, located just south of the upper adit assayed, whereas a sample of dump material assayed 7.2 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 19435). Another drill intercept with 3.6 grams per tonne gold with 1 per cent copper over 1.5 metres was also reported (Property File - GCNL [1988-10-19]: No. 201 (1988) - Spanish, Debbie, Thorn, Meridor).

The area has been explored in conjunction with the nearby Hungry Man (MINFILE 082FSW235) occurrence since the early 1900s. Early development includes two adits located at elevations of 1260 and 1310 metres. The lower adit trends 125 degrees and is approximately 110 metres long, whereas the upper adit trends 190 degrees and is approximately 12 metres long.

In 1984, Hillside Energy Corp. prospected and sampled the area. In 1986 and 1987, Bullion Range Exploration completed programs of geological mapping, geochemical sampling and ground geophysical surveys on the area as the Debbie claim. In 1988, four diamond drill holes, totalling 381.0 metres, were completed. Soil sampling identified an area of anomalous gold values to the east.

The Conrau property was owned and prospected by Tom Kennedy in 2003. The property is reported by Kennedy to cover two occurrences—Debbie and Root (MINFILE 082FSW303)—and surrounds a third, the Hungry Man (MINFILE 082FSW235) occurrence. The property also hosts many undocumented small adits and pits, presumably worked on from the turn of the last century. In 2004, Kootenay Gold Corp. collected 39 rock on the Conrau property (presumably optioned from Kennedy) and analyzed for gold and trace elements.
