The Fawn occurrence consists of a number of northeast trending quartz veins, which crosscut white quartzites and argillites at 065 to 085 degrees with a dip of 65 to 90 degrees south. These sedimentary rocks, which strike 010 to 030 degrees with an east dip of 50 to 75 degrees, are part of the Lower Cambrian Quartzite Range Formation which is correlative with rocks of the Hamill Group. Mineralization consists of erratic patches of disseminated pyrite within the veins. The workings expose three major veins within a horizontal distance of about 30 metres; these veins are usually narrow but average about 15 centimetres wide and locally may be up to 60 centimetres. Minor oxidation of the sulphides is noted.

Reserves (unclassified) total 3,883 tonnes grading 28.46 grams per tonne gold (George Cross News Letter No.217, 1987).

In 1986 and 1987, Gunsteel Resources Inc. completed a program of underground and surface rehabilitation, drifting, surface and underground diamond drilling, trenching, geochemical sampling and geophysical surveys on the area.

During 2008 through 2016, Yellowstone Resources Ltd. examined the area as the Sheep Creek property. In late 2016, Margaux Resources Ltd. optioned the property and in 2017 examined the area. A grab sample (SC17-BL05) from a dump located west of an adit assayed 1.95 grams per tonne gold (Lane, R.A. (2017-08-17): NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Sheep Creek Project).
