The Racki (Buck 9) occurrence is located on East Wuhun Creek, at an elevation of approximately 2000 metres.
The area is underlain by siltstone, argillite and quartzite of the mid Proterozoic Creston Formation (Purcell Supergroup). These have been regionally metamorphosed to greenschist facies and have been intruded by gabbro to diorite sills and dikes of the mid-Proterozoic Moyie Intrusions.
The most significant mineralization discovered is contained within a silicified shear zone within the old Baldy fault structure, traceable for 2 kilometres along strike.
Locally, narrow quartz veins, stained with limonite, hematite, pyromorphite? and minor malachite at surface, host pyrite with rare gold and galena. Rare chalcopyrite is found in gabbro. Alteration is confined to silicification and minor chloritic zones associated with hematite.
In 1991, a rock sample (83098) assayed 2.99 per cent lead, 110.9 grams per tonne silver and 16.56 grams per tonne gold, while a 2-metre chip sample (83099) assayed 0.220 per cent lead, 22.8 grams per tonne silver and 0.20 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 21863).
In 1987, Chapleau Resources completed a program of soil, silt and rock sampling, trenching and geological mapping on the area as the Racki claims, Morgan property.
During 1987 through 1991, Chapleau Resources completed programs of silt, soil and rock sampling, trenching, geological mapping, a 14.8 line-kilometre combined ground electromagnetic and magnetic survey and a 200 line-kilometre airborne geophysical survey on the area as the Racki and LDM claims.
