The Dave 4 (Lockhart) occurrence is located on the north side of Lockhart Creek, approximately 8.5 kilometres east of Kootenay Lake and at an approximate elevation of 1850 metres.

The area is underlain by siltstone, argillite, quartzite and dolomite of the Middle Proterozoic Dutch Creek Formation (Purcell Supergroup) and folded limestone, dolomite, argillaceous schist and chloritic schist of the Upper Proterozoic Horsethief Creek Group.

Locally, galena, sphalerite, pyrite and tetrahedrite mineralization occurs as disseminations and veinlets in a carbonate close to the contact with an overlying argillite.

In 1981, diamond drilling intersected disseminated galena and sphalerite mineralization in a carbonate close to the contact with an overlying argillite. No assays were reported from the drill core.

In 1990, rock samples from the area assayed up to 219 grams per tonne silver, 1.41 per cent zinc, 32.2 per cent lead (RV9027; Assessment Report 20708).

Re-sampling of past drill cores, performed the same year, yielded values up to 0.254 per cent lead, 0.138 per cent zinc and 5.6 grams per tonne silver over 4 metres in hole 81K6, while drill hole 81K5 intersected 0.385 per cent lead, 0.067 per cent zinc and 5.7 grams per tonne silver over the last 3 metres of the hole (Assessment Report 20708). Diamond drill hole 81K7 intersected 0.109 per cent lead, 0.808 per cent zinc and 3.5 grams per tonne silver over 1 metre, while another interval assayed 0.369 per cent lead, 0.095 per cent zinc and 7.4 grams per tonne silver over 2 metres (Assessment Report 20708).

During 1975 through 1979, David Wiklund conducted programs of soil sampling on the area as the Dave claims. In 1980 and 1981, Norcan Energy Resources completed programs of rock and soil sampling, geological mapping, trenching, a ground electromagnetic survey and seven diamond drill holes, totalling 478.7 metres, on the area. In 1990, Cominco completed a program of geological mapping and rock, soil and previous drill core sampling on the area. In 1995, Hunter Resources completed a program of prospecting and minor trenching on the area. In 2011, Teck Resources completed a program of geological mapping on the area as the Crawford property.
